The player import files for the next County weekend 26/04/2008 are now available for download.

Please mail me BICC datbases if you use or have been using DfW in County matches and I will publish them here. I'm sure a lot of you have some db's on your computer :)

A new tutorial on how use the import files has been created.

The import files contains all registered BDO players in the current season for all the counties, match by match.
If you use DfW for County matches, it will save you a lot of typing.
New and updated files will be released after every county weekend.

HOW TO CREATE A BICC EXPORT FILE
To save your BDO Executive for a lot of work, and also to prevent typing errors, it is now possible to create a export file from DfW that can be mailed to your Executive. The file is 100% compatible with the BDO software used for running the BICC system.

HOW TO IMPORT THE BICC PLAYER FILES
THIS TUTORIAL REQUIRES DARTS FOR WINDOWS VERSION 2.5.1.18 OR HIGHER (release date 03/01/2008)
It will also work on older versions, but if used on an older version, the import file must be unzipped (decompressed) before import.

We start by creating a new database to use for the County match. We are going to use the 19/01/2008 Premier Division match Kent-Hampshire as a sample.

The new database is set as the default db after creation (see picture below).

Download the import file from the menu on the right side of this page as shown below.

I put my downloaded file in a separate folder on my C: drive. pic 6

To start the import, go to the menu "Tools > Add new players"

pic 7

The "Add players" screen.

Click the tab (1) "Import from DfW db" and then click the button (2) with the "folder open" icon as shown below.

Browse to the folder where you placed the downloaded zip compressed import file. I placed mine in C:\download (as shown below). If you use an older version of DfW, the file must be uncompressed and imported as a IMP_KEN_HAM_20080119.dfw. pic 10

Click the "Save" icon as shown below to start the import.
In versions before 2.5.1.18, both teams must be clicked on (checked) to enable them to be imported.

68 men's imported...

34 ladies imported...

The final task now is to create the MA, MB, WA and WB teams from the menu "Tools > Add County team". You may also add more players if you have a new player not listed in the import.
It is very important to register new players with the same name as the one you report to the BDO.
